Elaine Best

Elaine has more than 30 years of experience within the public sector predominately in the NHS. She has worked in acute, community and mental health services over this time taking a leading role in strategic planning and policy implementation for mental health in North Thames Regional Health Authority and subsequently London Regional Office.

From 1989 until 2001 she held a number of very senior management and Board Director appointments in London Health Authorities covering commissioning, community care and health business management. In 2002, Elaine was appointed Chief Executive for East Surrey Primary Care Trust which became known for its innovations in integrated health and social care.

More recently, she worked for the Department of Health in policy development for community services and is now an independent management consultant.
