New Virtual Support Groups for Parents with a New Born

Free Virtual Postnatal Peer Support Groups are now available for parents in Surrey with a new born baby to help them get to know parents in their local area. Led by a trained counsellor and child-care professional, the groups are informal and fun and discuss a wide range of topics including infant feeding, sleeping patterns, baby massage, first aid and attachment.

There are five weekly sessions for families run by Home-Start Surrey using Zoom which families can access via their smart phone, tablet or computer. Families are grouped together with others who live locally to them so they can continue meeting in the future if they wish to.

Feedback from a similar groups has highlighted how valued they have been to new parents. “Very much helped me at a time I needed to interact with others and have a different focus.” “It exceeded my expectations. Brilliant content, friendly ladies and looked forward to it every week.”

Book yourself on to a group by completing the online form or ask your midwife or health visitor to refer you.
