First Community Dementia training approved by Dementia Friends

First Community’s in-house dementia training programme, developed and run by Nurse Advisor for Dementia  Samantha Lungu, has been accredited by Dementia Friends.  Dementia Friends is an initiative from the Alzheimers Society to change the way people think, act and talk about dementia. As a result of the accreditation, delegates who taken part in the training, are entitled to wear the Dementia Friends badge. 

‘I am delighted that Sam’s programme has been recognised by Dementia Friends. All First Community colleagues receive Dementia Awareness training in recognition of the importance we place on this important issue,’ said Sarah Billiald, First Community Chief Executive.
Dementia Friends has a target of four million Dementia Friends by 2020.
