First Community raise over £800 to help struggling families impacted by Covid-19

Published on Friday 6 November 2020

During September a number of First Community staff took part in the Virtual Run Reigate fundraising event to raise money for their partners Stripey Stork.

The Surrey based charity collect donations of toys, clothes and other essential items for babies and children and, after checking they meet current UK safety standards, rehome them with local families experiencing hardship.

First Community participants ran over 250km during the month and raised an amazing £830!  This is an outstanding achievement and will really make a difference to the many families who are struggling as a result of the economic impact of the Covid-19 virus.

Sarah Billiald, Chief Executive said: "It was great to see so many runners from First Community taking part to support Stripey Stork and getting fit at the same time. I was proud to be part of this event and it's great to see that First Community raised around a fifth of the grand total - an outstanding result!"

First Community's strong partnership with Stripey Stork helped them reach their fundraising target of £5k for the Virtual Run Reigate event.
