Hours: 37.5

Based at: Children’s Community Centre, East Surrey Hospital Redhill

Looking for a job in Surrey as an Occupational Therapist join us at First Community Health and Care. Within easy reach of London, Surrey offers the balance between city and countryside all accessible via major road networks M25, M23, A3 and M3.    Experience of working with children, young people and families with or without disabilities is desirable but not essential, so if you are looking for a change we recognise that transferable skills are a valuable asset to the team.

This post will offer the successful candidates the opportunity to work alongside our supportive team of experienced therapists and assistants in providing a high quality occupation based provision to children aged 0-19 years, who have a variety of conditions, including Cerebral Palsy, Autistic Spectrum Disorders and learning difficulties.

You will work within community settings including nurseries and schools, seeing children within their occupational environment.  You will carry out essential roles within the Occupational Therapy process, including assessment, equipment recommendation, advice and training, group and workshop facilitation and individual therapy. We are a proactive service responsive to best practice evidence, we deliver services targeted at the whole population supporting early year’s settings, schools and parents to meet needs pre- referral.

Due to the community nature of this post the candidates will need to have experience of independent working, excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of the multidisciplinary team.  You will need to have experience or the capability to develop supervision skills to support junior staff.

Do you want to:

• Be an integral member of a dedicated team?

• Join a forward thinking, innovative organisation which puts its children at the centre of care?

• Contribute to the provision of high quality care within your local community?

We can offer flexible working, training and development opportunities, a supportive supervision structure and much, much more.

Therapists at First Community Health and Care are integral to our workforce. They are highly valued and we offer NHS benefits such as annual Leave, high cost area allowance, expenses and the NHS pension scheme.
