Enhanced self-help resources to support a range of musculoskeletal conditions

First Community has expanded its Outpatient Physiotherapy self-help webpages to include new dedicated sections for managing new aches and pains for the ankle, knee, hip, shoulder, elbow, hand and neck. The enhancements aim to support patients with accessible, evidence-based advice, self-management tools, and tailored exercise guidance.

The new sections include information on:

  • Why pains can happen
  • Common triggers
  • What you can do
  • Gentle, joint-specific exercises that may help support your recovery
  • When you should seek further advice.

The webpage also features various condition-specific guidance for a range of other joints along with educational content aimed at helping patients understand their symptoms, manage pain, and prevent future injuries.

First Community continues to develop the site, strengthening its commitment to accessible, patient-centred rehabilitation and ambition to improve digital access to healthcare services.
