First Community Health and Care celebrate a successful Annual General Meeting and another year impactful NHS community healthcare service delivery

First Community a social enterprise dedicated to delivering first rate NHS community healthcare services hosted its Annual General Meeting (AGM) today, celebrating a year of exceptional service delivery, innovation, and patient care.

The AGM brought together board members and colleagues to reflect on achievements from the past year and to discuss the strategic approach to support the delivery of the NHS 10-year plan. Highlights included over 2,000 hospital admissions avoided through the services of the Urgent Community Response team, 90 pence in every one pound being spent on front line services, 83% of staff recommending First Community as a place to work and the successful technology innovation to monitor patients with heart conditions at home.

Sarah Tomkins Chief Executive said: First Community staff go above and beyond every day to provide high quality, compassionate care to our local residents.  Today we reflect on our many successes in delivering outstanding NHS community healthcare and the benefits our social enterprise status provides for example our unwavering focus on community health and wellbeing, reinvestment, and sustainable impact. With a dedicated team of professionals, volunteers and partner organisations First Community continues to deliver NHS healthcare services that empowers patients to remain at home and live independent lives. Our aim is to build and maintain healthier local communities across east Surrey. 

Looking ahead, First Community remains steadfast in its mission to work in partnership with people living and working in our community to deliver outstanding lifelong local NHS healthcare, supporting everyone to achieve their potential.  We continue to explore opportunities for deeper cross-sector collaboration that supports integrated services, workforce adaptability, and a thriving organisational culture.

As we navigate complex challenges and embrace new models of care, today's AGM reinforced our commitment to listening, learning, and leading together. As a Social Enterprise we believe that real transformation begins with community activation, shared responsibility, and a collective vision for better health and wellbeing.
