Optimising ancillary provision for sustainable healthcare delivery
First Community's dietitians have optimised ancillary provision to support sustainable healthcare delivery.
Enteral feeding delivers nutrition directly into the gut via a tube and requires a range of plastic-based items such as giving sets, syringes, and containers - known collectively as ancillaries. Our dietitians identified inconsistent ancillary provision, inefficient ordering practices, and rising costs linked to increasing patient numbers and product prices.
This prompted the development of a guidance document to ensure equitable, sustainable, and cost effective ancillary provision.
