Board

The Board of Directors is responsible for overseeing First Community's operations and affairs. The Board is also responsible for ensuring that First Community Health and Care CIC is organised and operated in a manner consistent with its Articles of Association as an employee owned social enterprise.

Each quarter we issue a Board Brief, which provides the latest updates from key areas of our business including: updates from Board meetings; the ongoing work of our shareholder representative group - our Council of Governors; and news from our Community Forum and the First Community Network. Jon Ota - Chief Nurse and Director of Quality and People

Jon Ota - Chief Nurse and Director of Quality and People

Jon joined First Community in 2020 having previously held director roles in social enterprises and NHS community services since 2007.

Following qualifying as a nurse Jon specialised in palliative care, infection control and sexual health promotion, before taking on leadership roles mainly in community health, mental health and crime prevention.  

Outside work Jon is a trustee of Chailey Heritage Foundation, spends too much time thinking about/ eating good food and not enough time walking his dog Gracie on the Downs.
