Board

The Board of Directors is responsible for overseeing First Community's operations and affairs. The Board is also responsible for ensuring that First Community Health and Care CIC is organised and operated in a manner consistent with its Articles of Association as an employee owned social enterprise.

Each quarter we issue a Board Brief, which provides the latest updates from key areas of our business including: updates from Board meetings; the ongoing work of our shareholder representative group - our Council of Governors; and news from our Community Forum and the First Community Network. Lorcan Woods - Chair of the Board

Lorcan Woods - Chair of the Board

Lorcan Woods became First Community's Chair in April 2025 having previously been the Chief Finance Officer for King's College Hospital where we also had responsibilities for Estates, Strategy and Commercial services including procurement, pathology, ventures and international activities.


He currently has a portfolio of commercial and charity roles in health technology, modular build and volunteer-led suicide prevention.
Previous to the NHS, Lorcan has worked in finance internationally in consumer goods, private equity, mental health and social care. He studied Economics at Cambridge, is a qualified accountant and lives locally in Reigate where he often does the Parkrun.
