First Community's Caterham Dene Minor Injury Unit (MIU) is open from 8am-8pm seven days a week for adults aged 18 years and over.

The MIU can assess and treat a wide range of conditions including:

  • Cuts and grazes
  • Sprains and strains
  • Broken bones (fractures)
  • Bites and stings
  • Infected wounds
  • Eye problems (infections and scratches)
  • Sports injuries
  • Minor burns and scalds.

Average wait times are less than one hour, making it a convenient alternative to A&E, and it’s just a short journey from East Surrey Hospital.

You do not need an appointment; however, you are advised to book by calling NHS 111 before you travel to ensure you're directed to the most appropriate service for you.
