Outstanding service at our Caterham Dene Minor Injury Unit

Published on Tuesday 25 February 2020

We have been working hard to continuously improve the quality of service our Caterham Dene Minor Injury Unit (MIU) provides.

Over 18,432 people were seen last year, this an increase of 25% from the previous year.*  Despite the growth in the number of people attending we have manged to reduce waiting times to an average of 14 minutes.

The Minor Injury Unit is open daily from 8am to 8pm for those aged 18 and over.  This is a convenient alternative to A&E and provides treatment for:

  • Cuts and grazes
  • Sprains and strains
  • Broken bones (fractures)
  • Bites and stings
  • Infected wounds
  • Eye problems, such as infections or scratches
  • Sports injuries
  • Minor burns and scalds

Emergency Services partners can refer patients to our Caterham Dene Minor Injury Unit  to reduce the number of A&E presentations.  For more info on the services available visit:

If you think your condition is serious or life-threatening, you should dial 999 or go to your nearest A&E.
