Redhill and Reigate Health and Wellbeing Neighbourhood Meeting brings community together at First Community’s multipurpose community health hub
On 21 July First Community welcomed local community organisations and healthcare professionals to its multipurpose community health hub, Consort House, for the very first time to host the Redhill and Reigate Health and Wellbeing Neighbourhood Meeting.
Organised by Dr Uzma Aziz and Lee Pegrum from the East Surrey Neighbourhood, the event brought together a diverse range of participants from across the local area, creating valuable opportunities for networking, collaboration and shared learning.
Among those attending were students from Reigate College and Leicester University, alongside representatives from local organisations, community groups and health and wellbeing services. The strong turnout reflected the growing commitment across the area to improving health and wellbeing through partnership working.
To help develop new connections, attendees took part in a series of interactive icebreaker activities, encouraging conversations, the sharing of experiences and the development of new relationships across organisations and sectors.
The meeting also featured two focused breakout discussions: frailty, wellbeing and community activities and technology and digital inclusion for older people. Participants explored key challenges and opportunities within these areas, sharing insights, highlighting good practice and identifying ways to work together to support local communities more effectively.
The event demonstrated the value of bringing people together to discuss local priorities and develop collaborative solutions that can make a positive difference to residents' health and wellbeing.
The East Surrey Neighbourhood brings together local health, social care and voluntary sector organisations to provide coordinated, preventative care to the local area. You can find out more here.
